#METOO
I’ve read few articles about the #metoo movement in the past so I had an idea when reading the article. As I was reading the article I had few ideas in my mind about imagery and the tone of the designs. Reading the article, I was very intrigued about idea of groups in the feminism movement is against women speaking about their story. It was shocking to read about their opinions which as I was reading I made some annotations about imagery and ideas for research.
Feminism is a topic which I have always been interested in and I created work in the past about this topic. I think there are variety of ways I can show the message of the article using minimal but strong imagery. Towards the end of the day we had to decide which article we wanted to do for this project so I chose Metoo. As a group we made a big mind map about all of our ideas and key things about the movement which we research tat would help our idea development process.
In a Perpetual Present
However, once this was another article which was really interesting to read. As I was reading the article I made annotations of things that could be researched or any key things that came to my mind about the potential designs. This topic and the style I have in my mind for this article is very different to other things I created. I realised I usually stay on the social topics such as feminism, mental health. These are the topics I based my projects on for the past few months. In a Perpertual Present is an article whcih will challenge my style and will allow me to try something new. It’s also a very interesting topic. I think the style of the designs for this article would be very minimal focused on imagery and keeping the type very soft. The choice of font is also very important as well as the colour scheme. Reading both of the articles I believe In a Perpetual Present draws my attention and I want to challenge myself in this project. So I decided to change the article and go with In a Perpetual Present.
Once I made my final decision, I created a mind map just like we all did with the other article. Creating a mind map helps me see all the possible ideas, just my thought process. As a was creating the mind map I focused on key areas such as things to research about, possible imagery ideas, key parts of the article which needs to be highlighted in the designs. To start off the project I want to do research about dementia and read more articles to develop my knowledge about this topic. This will help me develop ideas and I always like to start off with research which is essential part of my working method.
